Since I didn't have a large, old t-shirt laying around I went to Hobby Lobby. I bought a 3X large plain, grey t-shirt for about $4. I bought this so big because I wanted to be able to wrap it twice instead of once. I recommend washing the shirt before you use it to make this, it makes it a lot softer and gets rid of that "store smell".
Cut the hem off of the bottom and make a cut right below the sleeves. Please excuse the kitchen scissors for this project! Don't worry about cutting straight, I sure didn't and you can't even tell!
Cut 2"-3" slices along the cut lines you just made. Make sure to keep both ends free from cuts, or the scarf won't be "infinity". You can make these as thick or as thin as you prefer. After making the cuts, pull on the fabric to stretch it out. In this picture, I pulled out the fabric slices on the left side first, so you can see what a difference it makes.
And it's done! It takes just minutes to do and is super cheap, so it's easy to make a bunch in a variety of colors.
