I hope you all had a fantastic holiday weekend! Doesn't it always seem like this weekend is filled with rain every year? I still managed to have a great time! :)
I found a pin awhile back on Pinterest with this scrapbook paper cut-out canvas wall hanging (what a mouth full!) but couldn't find the site that it came from for a tutorial, so I decided to wing it and make my own!
For this, you will need: mod podge (I get mine from Hobby Lobby), scrapbook paper, scissors, spray paint and a blank, white canvas.
I had brown spray paint on hand and wanted it to be neutral to match the hallway upstairs, but you can do whichever color you want.
Spray paint the canvas so it is covered completely and allow it to dry.
While the canvas is drying, gather your scrapbook pages.
Cut them into "petal" shapes. I didn't use any specific pattern, so you'll notice that they aren't perfect. Cut out a circle shape for the center of the flower.
Lay the cut-outs on the dried canvas. I would not just wing it and attach them as you go. It helps a lot to have a plan so you can see the end result and make changes accordingly! Pick up each cut-out one by one and use the foam brush to swipe some mod podge on the back. Set it back down on the canvas. After you are done with all of the petal cut-outs, cover the canvas and cut-outs with mod podge. This will give it a glossy look and prevent the edges of the paper from starting to come off of the canvas.
Here's the finished product hanging in the hall. :)
