I've been browsing around on Pinterest a lot more lately, which means that I'm wanting to get more adventurous with my cooking. Don't get me wrong, I love the occasional meal of chicken nuggets and macaroni and cheese, but I would much rather have something like this. Cheeseburger wraps are super good and really easy to make.
You will need:
--a George Forman grill
--1 pound of ground beef, browned
--shredded cheddar cheese
--1/4 cup diced onion (optional)
--bacon strips, cooked (opitonal)
--4-5 large tortilla shells
--cooking spray
Directions:
1. Plug in the grill so it can start warming up. As you can see, I don't have the temp set real high.
2. Brown the ground beef. I add diced onions for flavor, but that is optional.
3. Spray one side of a flour tortilla with cooking spray and turn it over onto a plate. The side that was sprayed should be face down (so it it touching the plate surface).
4. Scoop the drained, browned ground beef onto the tortilla and top with cheese. Use more cheese than you think necessary. The first time I made this, I didn't put a lot on and regretted it.
You can also add more filling at this time. Tonight, I only did the beef, onions and cheese. Some ideas for filling: pickles, tomatoes, lettuce and anything else you would eat on a cheeseburger!
5. Fold the tortilla so the contents stay inside.
6. When you are finished folding, place the wrap onto the George Foreman and close it. This has to happen pretty quickly so the contents don't spill. It does take some practice!
I usually keep the wrap on the grill for 4-6 minutes. The vegetable oil cooking spray really helps to make the outside of the wrap nice and crispy.
Tonight, I had tomato soup as a side for this. Other great dishes for these yummy wraps include: french fries, diced potatoes, macaroni and cheese, au gratin potatoes, or tater tots.
